This Privacy Policy describes how Yan Builds LLC(“Yan Builds,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our website at bloomlings.app (the “Site”) and the Bloomlings mobile application (the “App,” together with the Site, the “Services”).
Bloomlings is designed for parents and guardians to use with children ages 5–10. Only a parent or legal guardian who is at least 18 years old may create an account. Children do not directly provide us with personal information; parents or guardians provide information on their behalf and supervise their use of the App.
1. Information we collect
a. Information you give us
- Account information. Email address, display name, and authentication identifier when you create an account (via Apple Sign In, Google Sign In, or similar).
- Waitlist information. Email address and, optionally, phone number and consent timestamp if you join the launch waitlist on our Site.
- Child profile information. First name or nickname, age range, and avatar customization data that you create for each child profile under your account.
- Meal data. Photographs of meals (before and after), meal notes, and category information you submit through the App.
- Co-parent information.If you invite a co-parent, we collect the invited person’s email address and connection status.
- Subscription information. Purchase confirmations and subscription status from Apple, Google, or RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card number.
- Communications. Messages you send us (for example, to support) and your responses to surveys.
b. Information collected automatically
- Usage data. Pages or screens you view, features you use, timestamps, referrer URL, and interaction events.
- Device data. Device type, operating system, browser type, language, approximate location (inferred from IP), and device identifiers.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and our analytics providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on the Site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
c. Information from third parties
We receive information from service providers we work with (for example, our authentication, analytics, email, and subscription providers listed below).
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
- Analyze meal photographs using AI to estimate food categories (“Energy Foods,” “Strong Foods,” and “Color Foods”) and track progress;
- Personalize the App experience, including your child’s virtual Sproutling and rewards;
- Process subscriptions and associated transactions;
- Communicate with you about the Services, including waitlist updates, launch announcements, support responses, and administrative messages;
- Improve, test, and develop new features; monitor performance, detect and prevent fraud or abuse;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use personal information to serve third-party behavioral advertising.
3. Children’s privacy (COPPA)
The App is intended for family use. Accounts may only be created by adults 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. When a parent creates a child profile, the parent is providing that information on behalf of the child, and the parent controls that information.
Data associated with a child profile is collected for the sole purpose of providing the Services and is not used for behavioral advertising or shared with third parties for their own purposes. A parent or guardian may at any time review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of information from their child’s profile by contacting privacy@bloomlings.app or by deleting the child profile or the account within the App.
4. How we share information
We share information only:
- With service providers that process information on our behalf and under contract, including:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage)— account, profile, meal, and image storage;
- Google Gemini API— AI analysis of meal photographs;
- RevenueCat— subscription management;
- OneSignal— push notifications;
- PostHog— analytics;
- Loops.so and Viral Loops— email marketing and waitlist management;
- Twilio— SMS messaging to phone numbers that you have opted in.
- With co-parents you invite, to the extent needed to provide the shared-family features.
- For legal reasons, where required by applicable law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect our rights, property, or the safety of others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Privacy Policy.
5. AI processing of meal photographs
When you submit a meal photograph, the image may be sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to estimate food categories and consumption. By using the App, you grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to process your submitted content for the sole purpose of providing the Services. We do not use submitted photographs to train third-party general-purpose AI models without your consent.
6. Data retention
We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@bloomlings.app. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
You can opt out of marketing emails by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. You can stop SMS messages by replying STOP to any text message.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International users
The Services are operated from the United States. If you use the Services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
10. California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. To exercise your rights, email privacy@bloomlings.app.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the effective date. Your continued use of the Services after the update takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
